Having been one of the parents banging on the MSA door after the first badly worded attempt. If there are difficulties with how it is being applied at club level then a phone call to the MSA is in order.
Having torn a strip off them at their first attempt- the discussion I had with them was that they are quite clear that the rule was not intended to discourage or penalise the use of none regulatory safety equipment, but purely to stop small drivers carrying unsafe weight . I am sure they will be very disappointed if there are still issues with this.
