Nice legal reading but poor 'causal' reading!
Yes, that is ONE potential 'reading' of the limited information we have been fed. Another could be considerably less charitable towards the track owners. Being aware of the laws of libel/slander, I don't feel that I could recite that other view, here. Like yourself, I am a (more obviously) neutral bystander. I have not already made up my mind as to which side has behaved the most honourably. Like you, I don't have any link with either party.
I'd have to say, my reaction would be based on how I felt about the behaviour of the parties involved. If I felt that the circuit owners had behaved badly, I'd vote with my feet. Shouldn't we all do the same?
