I recently took part in a 12 'overnight' karting race for charity. We raised £8,000 and it was different kind of racing with re-fuelling, driver changes, staying awake and strategy all coming in to play.
I was thinking of organising a 24 hour race for charity at The International Circuit in Birmingham this summer over a weekend in late July / early August if possible.
I would open it up to teams of drivers of all levels, they must be over 16 but whether your compete professionally or have never driven a kart all are welcome.
The cost would be £1500 per team made up of 6-12 drivers, entrance fees would be raised via sponsorship and I am looking for 20 teams on the grid.
I want to see what the interest is like before we plough on organising, so let me know your thoughts.
Thanks, Martyn
