Speaking as a father of a cadet driver who recently hit a tyre wall at 30mph head on. ABSOLOUTLY YES. Suit will be fine if its a Level 2 but the helmet needs to be a lightweight helmet.
A Bell CMR lightweight Helmet is around 1.1kgs (ish) vs a normal helmet being around 1.5 (ish). Roughly speaking the g-force for a head on crash at 30 are around 20G (i am not doing the complicated maths, too many variables) as a result a light-weight helmet could weigh around 22kgs in an impact vs a normal helmet weighing around 30kgs. That's quite a force on a little neck!
In addition we also use a Leatt neck-brace (or Valhalla 360) as mandatory safety equipment, we wont go on circuit with out it, we feel its just as important as the helmet.
  Hop that helps.
