Thanks for going to the effort of clearing that small point up.

We are still talking about the same method, whether its called plug chop or chopped plug method, however I think I was referring to the plug being cut when I said the chopped plug method, as in, once you have cut the thread away you, if you need to, you have a chopped plug.

I did think that the method was called that as it referred to the chopped plug, but it refers to 'chopping' of the engine I guess as you say, but it wasn't particularly relevant or important to me that the naming convention referred to that. It wouldn't prevent me from doing the method correctly by thinking it referred to cutting the engine or cutting the spark plug.

I was neither explaining in detail what the method was.

BTW - I find it impossible to see the bottom third of the porcelain with a torch, I personally would have to 'chop' the plug to see it. One of the links I posted shows a picture of a cut plug and calls it a chopped plug - so I think we are being a little pedantic :)
