Obviously, I am old and biased and 'certain' that what we did in our youth was better then is done today..... (I am admitting I COULD be wrong!)

However, blueprinting is not like tuning. It doesn't take the engine past its designed power level (like combining nitrous oxide and a supercharger would to a GX160) and thus place the engine under too great a strain. It just takes the engine to the point where it delivers EXACTLY the power it was designed to take! So, I'd argue that blueprinting hardly alters the reliability of the motor at all!
