Hi Thomas, I have a joint in the oil line where I was thinking of putting the sensor, however on inspection, the oil line is only about 9mm internal and the sensor housing I have spare is for the water hose of about 17mm id. The thought of having an adapter machined had crossed my mind but then I turned to the oil filter housing, after all they are only Ł9 if it all goes wrong!
When the temp sensor arrives and I can see how long the threads are, I'll see if it's practical to drill the housing. The housing will probably be too thin to tap, but if the sensor threads are long enough, a M10 nyloc.. nut and dowty washer might just do it.
