There is absolutely no skimming allowed. The regulations are quite clear about that covered in that the original machine makes must be clearly visible and no removal of metal and that has been the case for as long as I have been in the sport and many have fallen foul of this over the years and really isn't difficult to detect and police provided there is a scrutineer who is allowed to spend the necessary time.

Pre T2 it was as easy as sticking a 6mm allen key between the head and the block. If it didn't go then head off for a look and measure. It isn't as easy with the different head gaskets of today. Perhaps that is the way forward - T2s using a standard gx160 gasket!
