I know so many people whom have had this problem inc. myself. More often than not most blasters don't really care that much and / or the message gets missed. The number one thing is to take a note of the number, worst case you can stamp it back on. The last two I have done - one just now, I have cut a section of rubber hose out, just fractionally over the size of the area you want to protect and then attached it in position with lock wire - at least 3 wires. Or you could use the very thin hose clips for small pipe and join a few together. With wire the blaster gets behind the wire. The powder coater / painter can then take the rubber off and mask. Works a treat.
