I've never really understood why clubs are reluctant to permit their members to use cameras. If it's a safety concern then have the scrutineers insist upon a secondary means of tethering; a piece of throttle cable passing through a couple of tiny holes in the camera case (which can easily be done without compromising the waterproof nature of the case) and nassau and secured with a clamp ticks that box.
More likely is that they want to minimise any potential for grief at incident reviews, in which case they should stipulate that cameras are permitted for the enjoyment of the driver only and not submissible as evidence.
