I have already wrote a letter to him as required before civil action is taken.
I used a template from the cab website.

Stating why i am entitled to a refund under the sale of goods act as the goods are not fit for purpose etc.

His reply was exactly the same but he did advise me if i am going to proceed with civil action against him i had better get a good solicitor as i am going to need it.

So my next step is to take him to court and produce the actual item in court as evidence.
You can pull it apart between your fingers..
