I was at Kimbolton yesterday and I was left a bit concerned with some of the decisions made by the marshalls / officials.

In the first ICC heat, one driver nearly rolled it after an incident on the back straight. He didnt get out of his kart, for whatever reason, and the kart was half on, half off the circuit. No red flag was shown, despite the driver not getting out of his kart, and the PARAMEDICS had to move the kart to a place of safety!!!

Now there are two concerns in particular I have with this incident.

1) Why was the red flag not shown?
2) Why was it left to the Paramedics to move the kart, with a possibly injured driver still in the kart?

The first problem is down to officials. Was the Clerk aware / made aware of the stricken kart? If so, surely a red flag should've been called out? I personally have seen red flags out for far less dangerously positioned karts! If not, it shows a lack of awareness by the officials, and a lack of communication by the marshalls, as the kart was about five yards away from one of the posts.

The second problem is the marshalls. I know marshalls are technically not supposed to leave their posts, but surely common sense must kick in when a kart with an injured driver still in the seat has two wheels on the circuit?

There were a few other things that concerned me, in particular with the TKM Extreme drivers. More than once in the heats I saw drivers trying to recover after a first corner incident, and being stood in the middle of the track halfway through the second corner trying to bumpstart the kart!!! Several times the driver pushing his kart had to move out of the way to avoid oncoming karts!! This, to me, is just plain insanity, and surely should've led to at least a severe talking to!!

Did anyone else see any of the incidents? If so, what was your views on it? Has anyone else got any comments?
