Yes that is exactly what I mean. We all,on occasions overstep the mark a little or are forced to use the area outside the white lines due to circumstances beyond our control which must be accepted as part of racing. The rules is very clear on this. 'The area outside the circuit boundary lines and must only be used in order to avoid contact or an accident' the Blue Book also says that any competitor leaving the 'circuit' (the surface denoted by the white lines) more than twice during the course of a race or qualifying session shall be liable to exclusion or loss of lap times.
How much clearer can it be? The only legal line is one that employs the WHOLE circuit as licensed not the several meters shorter version adopted by the rule & chassis benders.
Unfortunately the problem will persist until clerks take action or we go back to the dim and distant past where circuits had tyre bundles as track markers, try running over those then!!!
The whole issue of kerb use has been highlighted by the antics of certain F1 drivers, who if the laws were rigorously applied, to would not finish a race without an extended pit stop to explain exactly which accident they were avoiding to the stewards.
Other positives from not using the kerbs are your chassis will last much longer and you will not have to constantly replace your now mandatory disk protector every meeting.
