Just in case , have you tried connecting the pick-up to the other input on the Alfano as one is for the lap sensor and the other is for temp readings , it may be in the wrong one .
Did the RPM wire ( the thin cable that goes thru the 2 small holes by the screw on connectors ) work ok ?
