Gearbox karts are a different case. Higher speeds and an inclined driving position, even with this they are intended as a head rest, not a rollover bar like the German seats. Look at who is pushing this to the FIA and who is making the seats, I will let you draw your own conclusion where the pressure is coming from. It's not anyone who is really from Karting, even the CIK do not want it. FIA tested seats will be three times more expensive than current ones and if you get the slightest crack it will be thrown out at scrutineering. Good for my business you might think but these unecessary homologation costs keep ramping up, reducing choice and forcing a large number of people out of the sport.
