A point of interest here is that at certain circuits a worn Vega SL6 will way out perform a brand new tyre!!! I am at a loss to answer this one but I am certain it is connected to the heat cycle process as a few years ago we found that F3 Avon slicks would perform at their optimum for qualifying if they were run through a progressive heat cycle then left for 24 hours and they then offered an advantage of 2 or 3 tenths over a new unrun tyre.
