Just about to replace a battery in one of ours - it's doing similar things to yours.

Take alanrr's advice - he knows his onions !

I can replace a battery if you don't want to do it yourself (or alan doesn't want to do it ?)

I'll try to post a link to the instructions (from vic if I recall) if you want a go yourself. It's fairly easy but a bit fiddly.
