Yes it does, yes it is likely to be better BUT what brake system are we talking about? You will find that your brake caliper will probably not fit as the bigger disk needs the caliper to be remounted on a modified mount.
For example OTK supply 2 disk sizes that use the same caliper with a diferent mount the larger one being more popular with the snr & heavy classes and the smaller one for jnr's.
There are however some discs that only slightly differ (by approx 5mm) for example which are likely to fit but if you are unsure retun it and get the correct one for the caliper/mount.
