I think it should be clarified (and I hope people agree with me here) that leaning is not throwing yourself around in the seat. It should always be a consistent and gently movement. Karts don't like sudden anything mid corner.
Even drivers that appear to not be leaning will be leaning (otherwise they'd fall out of the seat). Some lean forward, some lean back, some lean in some lean out. All have been fast but I've never seen a british champion who throws his body weight around and the majority lean so little from their standard position (be it forward, back, head down, head up) that you really have to know what you are looking at to see it.
