Recently started karting, only practice sessions so far. Did 1 full day about a month ago and that night and for the next week had reaaly bad rib/back pain-felt like all the muscles between ribs were really bruised-took almost 3 weeks to recover fully.

Blamed seat as felt a bit too small so bought bigger seat, 1/4 covered. Tried that this week for 1/2 day and ribs hurting again, not as bad as last time but of course only 1/2 the time in the kart.

Can't carry on like this. Might sound an obvious question but do rib protectors solve this problem or are they just in case of accidents? Want to check before a fork out more dosh. Haven't noticed others wearing them, but then again most are a good bit younger than me!
