I respect your comments but it IS the tyre wall.
Before it went under the magnifier, I wire wooled the rims, cleaned the rims, even changed the rims....then looked closer....It WAS the tyre wall.
Then of course looking even closer to the tyre you could see that there was mild 'bubbling' of the the rubber in that area.
I said in my earlier post that it was a mm away from the lip and in truth most was. But trails of air bubbles, when under water, were actually best part of 3mm away from the lip. So no question.
We are at whilton today using the offending tyres (as very slow leak) so if anyone wants to see, then it minimax 36.
