Itpro and others are right. joiner links are ok. I used them on Bilands. The reason split links can work is, most of the force put on a chain is down the length of the chain on its pins and not trying to force the side plates off. More important is the tension of the chain. I found that you need to have the chain much tighter than you would aspect to prevent the chain having any whip. In my experience the chain always snapped when coming off the pedal. By putting more tension on the chain it overcame the problem of snapping chains. A good chain manufacturer is recommended, but not all chain manufacturers do slpit links. Tom
