Officially Heat Guns for cleaning tyres is banned on grounds that no heating of tyres is allowed. But!!!

Few clubs enforce or check this strictly as already said it's almost impossible to police. That said if you do it in front of an official he will be duty bound to tell you not to do it.

Cleaning them with a Sureform tool is an effective "legal" way but best done right after race when the rubber is still soft.
