"This is madness. Last Shenington meeting we had less than 1 hours running over the whole weekend"

So there is a successful club, good size grids, looking to keep race numbers up and already time on track is at a premium during the BST. What will it be like in Nov when its dark at 4 pm.

What is the track time going to be like at your club when the two extra classes are introduced next year and its getting dark at 4 pm. Will they combine KGP and X30, after all both seem to be about similar pace. I cant see Mr Cox and Mr Mills being too keen on that idea.

If each class had 30 - 40 drivers on the grid at each club around the country, then you could see how more classes could begin and grow without having a detrimental effect overall but those numbers are not there at most clubs.

Clubs need good grids to survive, drivers want big grids and decent track time for their entry fee. I still dont understand how introducing 2 new classes will bring more people into karting and improve the "experience" for the competitors when there will be smaller grids and less track time.

I also have this issue with the claims that you can do all the maintenance on these new engines yourself. How many front runners at your club do their own engine rebuilds and how many engines at the front of the grids go to the manufacturers time between rebuilds and remain competitive.

I dont have a crystal ball and I dont have the answers to what is wrong with karting, but I am pretty certain that the groups in charge of karting are in the same boat as me.
