Depends on where and what you want to race. There's little need for a long fence to test and there's plenty of non-MSA racing around the country for those that don't want to compete nationally or progress to dizzy heights. Google IKR to find out more.

If you plan to race MSA racing then yes you need an ARKS test. If you still have your old licence or the MSA have records you may get away with a written test only.
