Hi
I've seen on here that the chain length can be calculated by adding the total number of teeth on the engine sprocket to the number of teeth on the rear sprocket plus 10.
On my son's Tony Kart Junior Rotax we have a 12t engine sprocket and a 80t rear sprocket, therefore we thought we should have a chain length of 102t. However the engine mount is fouled by the side pod mounting point.
We have to use a 106t chain to clear the side pod mounting point.
The engine mount is a generic mount... should we be using a OTK engine mount?
Is the chain calculation we are using acceptable for the Rotax class?
Any suggestions / advice much appreciated Jim
