I THINK.... the so called "good stuff" is a rubber backed glass fibre type material, rubber backing being the outside. This is good and works, but it does break up after a while from taking it on and off. I would suggest to go to an Insulation supplier and purchase a lengh of the fibre itself, it come in tubular form with various diameters and is as cheap as chips... cut your lengh and bingo, keep the rest in the tool box and use away. Its the same stuff you get with the engine just not rubber backed. I got mine from a comany in Devon, T&M Supplies. 01837 82601.
Good luck. We used it on the Iame X30 engines over here, i think we are talking about the same sort of stuff.
