This is just my opinion and i thought i would chuck it in for measure. It isnt meant to annoy anybody or acuse anybody.

I for one will be glad to see something happening to control the slipping clutch, at the midland champs at rissy, it was a complete farce, we spent all of our time testing without grease and was promised that it would be sorted with the 3000 rpm test, we pointed out that at dunkeswell the week before it was a waste of time as people were simply greasing the clutches and then not starting them until the 3000 rpm test had been done, did they pass of course they did!! you can put as much grease as you like on, if you dont start it until you do the test then it will pass, but by the time you come to the first corner you in full slip.

I can tell you at Dunkeswell it makes about 8 tenths per lap, I know we proved it!
Rissy just about 2 tenths.

Frankly I am disgusted that we are being forced to cheat to be competitive. I am very uneasy about overgreasing, but come on those pretneding its a minority are in cookoo land

Back to the midlands as i said all day promised it would be tested, so off we go get the kart setup with no grease lap times okay, people still using grease through the practice fair enough up to them but it was important to test without because that was what we were promised would be the order of the day.

shock!! 1 hour before the qualifying gets under way the announcement came " use as much grease as you like" so now we havent a clue what gearing we can use ( some people were dropping 4 teeth apparently) and the race was on to see who had the best grease.

so is it moly grease,, lithium, chain lube, tri-flow??? and yes some expensive grease is far better and doesnt burn off

what a joke!

Junoir max is a joke this year, frankly it is a waste of money, the msa and rotax want putting up against a wall and shooting.

club level racing is a waste of time if you want to be honest, we have enough trouble with tyre softner etc but at least that is not allowed and if you are caught bad news, but the grease is just a joke.

I would happily pay for a device that ensures the cheating cannot continue compared to the cost of a meeting its worth it.

the real trouble is, that because slip is expected to be present people are using tacked spring clutches in the heats allowing them to get good grid positions this cannot be detected because every bugger is slipping there clutches, however if you get a top 5 slot on the final grid you can afford to just go with the grease then, the damage is done.

I am sure the marshalls can here the slip when they are standing on the corners.

if rissy kart club declares open season on grease what are the other clubs going to do, surely a ruling from the MSA is needed.

sorry state of affairs if you ask me...
