I changed my 08 barrel for an 09 and we were 1.5 secs quicker overnight, as for spending a fortune, it depends on your budget, if your coming out of cadet I'm sure you know what it's like.
We just changed to a Tonykart from an Arrow, the difference is unbelievable, time in seat is key and the Tony gives us much more grip so can carry more speed reulting in our fastest time this year last w/end at Shenny, that's with no extra work on the engine so as with cadets, practice and then practice some more,one of the main things is with minimax you can alter jets according to the weather. It helps!
My engine builder by the way is BRT.
