I think all the experienced hands have had an issue with on track etiquette over the years, be it open test days, closed testing for championships an so on.

The simple fact you have asked the question suggests to me that you care about the other circuit users around you. Therefore I welcome you to the world of karting with open arms.

There is some great advice in this thread that many people could use. Just remember that many guys/gals visit the circuit on open test days for many reasons. Some are there for fun, others are simply running in engines and checking carbs for race day. Some are out there setting up a chassis and others are complete novices. Add to that a mix of ages and personalities and you have a recipe for disaster. I would never block or race another circuit user on a busy test day, that's for racing only. And that should be everyone's approach.
Use of hand signals is a forgotten art these day's too. Use signals at all times! Raise your hand when passing a yellow flag, pulling off track with a problem or slowing to enter the pits. Do signal to others where to pass if possible. And the people around you will be grateful. Make friends and enjoy.

It helped that these rules were enforced many years ago but we should all try our best to encourage good etiquette. I can remember being bopped on the head by dear old Reg for not raising my hand at Rye House back in the day. Those were the days........
