A continuation of a previous thread really, (TKM running flat) what's the best type of material to use as a pulse pipe from the crankcase to carb?
After losing quite a bit of Top-end in the final at Kimbolton last weekend, I noticed a lot of oil splashed about under the barrel on the RH side of the engine.
With the engine removed the source of the leak was found to be where the pulse pipe connects on the elbow screwed into the crankcase. I had fitted a small tie-wrap over the pipe, but the pipe itself had turned very soft. I can only asume some types of pipe are more suitable for this purpose than others.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Dave.
