Opinion required,
We race in TKM with a Tony Viper Mk1 and run the metal chassis protectors bought from Spellfame. They are securely fastened, but my understanding is that the scruitineers have been told NOT to allow the side protectors, - there is some ambiguity about the front bar. My question, and it only applies to TKM as the powers that be have suspended teh need for homologated chassis. What if I weld these onto the chassis, effectively making the skid plates an integral part of the chassis, and claim the design / chassis as my own and not enter as a Tony Kart, but put on the entry form e.g. Protected (made up name) would I be allowed to race MSA? Afterall the chassis protectors are now part of the frame.
