John, I agree that a few drivers may be forced to either join the new class or take a year out and just do testing although for the first year there does seem to be the opportunity to jump ship now and thereby be allowed to race juniors in 2011 at age 11.
I think the MSA should have given a bit more flexibility with the change of age and perhaps said it would start in 2012 or 2013 as by then there could be some used equipment around. If the new class then failed to take off they could then look again at the situation.
Although it would be ideal if the MSA canvassed opinions from members we have had the opportunity to lodge comments on the proposal and I just hope that members have taken advantage of this.
