I agree, the clutch thing is nonsense. I always apply a smear of lubricating grease to the bearing - because it is a metal-to-metal bearing, seems obvious I know. Actually there isn't any need to do that in the long run because, as Alan says, chain lube and all sorts of other stuff get in around the tiny gap between the drum and the lip of the backplate, thus negating the 'O' ring thing. Put it this way, it hasn't bothered the Unilogger all year long. If someone is playing hookey with a clutch, take the drum off and it will look like a Brylcream advert. Simples!
So now you're not allowed to repair coil cables? Hope ours are long enough because I'm not changing them - they've been fine for years.
