I hope the Whilton Mill officials do read these posts and try to take on board the increasing resentment on the way decisions are being handed out.I know the officials frequently have a queue at their door after every heat and have to deal with issues quickly but I sense they are unwilling to listen to reason and use threats all too regulalrly. We ourselves were called in last month and faced 3 penalty places and were frankly treated like dogs being shouted at to sit down. Only after arguing the decision and the other driver involved agreeing with our version of events was the decision, thankfully, reversed.

Turning to the issue on the starts, everyone quite correctly state the rules but it's the starter's decision to make sure he/she's happy of the formation and let it go or send them round.
I think also WM should check their maths on the time gap between karts. I'm not exactly sure of the track length but looking at the timing sheets and fastest laps, it looks like just under 1100m. When drivers briefing states a kart length is 0.125s I believe that is at race pace. Considering starts should be half race pace (or around 92s per lap in Junior) I reckon a kart length is closer to 0.17s and that doesn't even consider variances in where the transponder is mounted.

Another point here is the punishment fitting the crime. What advantage did he get? 1 position at the VERY most. 5 position penalty is pretty draconian in my view especially when you're pole and not P2.

Finally, the testiment of the 2nd driver should be listened to (as we had to push for in our own issue last month) They oiled up as exactly we did in the same heat as you and thought we were going to get loaded off the circuit as a result.

So I've got to say, totally unfair having watched the start in question. CoC's please try to find the time to listen to ALL those involved, treat people with some respect and not resort to threatening tactics and try to use the time/grid penalties fairly and proportional to the situation.
