The still looks like a lot of fuss about nothing.

Malcolm Fell has years of experience in karting and at Rowrah. You also have some very experienced CoCs and Stewards attending the meeting.

Apparently they have agreed to TRY standing starts but that does not mean that it will be adopted/enforced on all future MSA kart meetings.

As few, if any, drivers have experienced a standing start, I would expect there to be some practice goes. If these very experienced officials believe it will improve the starts then it may well be used on race day - otherwise I would expect them to revert to rolling starts.

They are not a bunch of muppets - just people with a lot of experience looking at something different.
