You would have thought that you could get any carb to run as good as the next but in practice you can't.

A well aligned venturi and cleanliness can help.

The difference between 8.5 and 12.5 was an idle modification and people have preferences for different track layouts.

Some carbs will work better with some engines and it's a matter of test test test.

Unless you're at the very sharp end I wouldn't go spending megabucks on a 'race winning S1 carb'.

We had a range of six carbs and found 04 03 to be good.

You can easily change a carb from 8.5 to 12.5 or vise versa.
