I used to machine the carrier to take two more bolts on the opposite side and then cut it in two, it cured the wobble completely as it relieved the stress in the carrier.

Otherwise it would just distort again once it got hot.

Sitting with your foot on the brake after you come in from a run also localised a heat spot and you could hear the disc 'ping'.

Floating disc do have an advantage.
