That would depend on how strong your current engine is!

If you have a strong engine, get it rebuilt.

If it's a normal mid field engine and you are racing competitively, buy a recently rebuilt engine of known heritage.

I took the lucky dip of a brand new engine a couple of years ago and was fortunate enough to get a very strong engine. One good thing to come out of the X30 is that there are some strong Rotax engines available for much less than they would have been a couple of years ago so I wouldn't buy a new engine now.
