Yes, you can run the old one it does fit, it is just a little bit short where the new mounts fit so the droppy mounts are half off before you start and it takes much less pressure on the bumper ends to push it back.
As an example, I could slap/punch the end of the bumper back(fail) with the old bar but I found it very hard to do with the newer one
