wizzmaster you said it in your own post, re-read it if you don't believe me!

Quote: most drivers can't make there own leads ect

I don't happen to believe that's true.

www.lapta.co.uk, their device is an ebox but not as neat and you can do the same thing with the Mychron ebox and pick them up on Ebay.

Their prices aren't exactly Pound Shop attractive or even Tesco attractive.

I make stuff for myself as and when I feel the need as I'm now retired from electronics after over 40 years.

I could easily flood the kart market with parts at knock down prices but having run a business for over 40 years, I know how other business's can be affected if I did do it.

So no, I won't release the circuitry because I can't guarantee it wouldn't be abused and Lapta have after all, done the legwork so buy theirs.

I was surprised to find the Mychron lap pickup was just a reed switch and not a hall effect device. It's very expensive for what it is and you can convert an old Alfano one to work on the Mychron for a fiver.

It's up to the man in the street where he spends his money.

By the way you could get Lapta to advertise on UK karting seeing as they are benifitting from this thread and Martin and Dick always welcome advertising revenue.
