They had vibration problems above 17,000 rpm or so making them uncompetitive in the classes open to them at the time. I can't recall if they ever got to the stage of homologating them.

I have half a memory that the engines were being sold on Ebay but, perhaps as long as 5 years ago, the guy still had them all in his workshop.
