All those extras don't have to be covered in the regs because the regs specifically state what can be recorded. Using your logic, I'd be perfectly entitled to run tyre pressure sensors since it's a "grey area" that isn't covered in the regs.

Of course, the rule simply needs amending to allow for this technology.
