I've done exactly the same as you and so far it's gone through scrutineering 3 times. The first time I asked the scrute if it was OK (on the Saturday) and he had no issues with it.

I managed to make three out of one disc protector and so far we're still on the first one. Hardly any damage at all and we ride the kerbs a lot !
