As a newcomer to TKM, I downloaded the Walbro service manual for the WB series carb to help understand it's workings: this is freely available at the Walbro website.

It seems that the two metal discs are Welch plugs used when the carb has a "check valve", which the WB 19 type does not (at least, none of the ones we've got).
I guess the repair kit is generic and will service several variants of the WB series, the WB 19 apparently not needing the Welch plugs.

Thanks to "Clive F" for the tips. Any constructive advice from the more experienced is always welcome.

Anyone know if the Welch plugs are used on any TKM legal carb?
