The Mychon is far superior to the Alfarno as said above however as you are just starting out the data available to the Mychron 4 user can, if not read correctly lead to making poor decisions on set up. Stick to learning the basics first and do not get your lad looking at the dash, in fact I have found it an advantage to mask out the display whilst working with new and inexperienced drivers. They tend to start looking at lap and split times rather than getting the driving right. I also know a number of even experienced drivers that become blinded by the info from the dash looking for times and forgetting the driving when the circut coditions may be the cause of time loss.
