No such thing as a top engine, so long as they're well maintained pretty much anything can win. Resale price is comparable with max, tyres last longer, can rebuild yourself, much much more fun at any level, very little damage in comparison to rotax either. And gearbox is run at tattershall and strubby non-msa too as far as I know
