Hi ian yes i found the problem, the spring inside the RAV2 had been stretched and was about 5mm to long, i also took my engine to my nearest builder and had the whole pv rebuilt to iliminate any problem. i see your problem is on a 09 motor thats new, i found on an american forum as i searched high and low for the problem!! its a known problem on the new 09 motors people had found the spade was to big this sounds crazy but the people who had the problem when they changed for an older pv from a spare engine it worked as it should, not much help if you dont have a spare pv but if u back to back with with an old pv that shoooould be the problem ;)
