I find it rather arrogant to state that a scrutineer from S1 "obviously does not know the RULES". Maybe they know more about all the rules in the MSA Blue and Gold books (including changes)and gave iant the correct advice.
It MAY be the case that his proposed change would mean that the chassis no longer complied with the TKM homologation and therefore the plate had to be removed. It MAY also be the case that the chassis, as modified, did meet the other part of TKM Rule B3.3.2 in that it meets the MSA specification.
Karting rules can get quite complex with various sections of the Blue and Gold books plus championship regulations having to be considered.
