If your problem persists just check one of the starter mounting bolts has not broken and the remaining section of the bolt wound through until it fouls the bendix gear.
It is quite common to find that the innermost bolt has fractured at some time.
The same problem occurs when the inner bolt is replaced with one slightly too long which also fouls the bendix gear.
The symptom of the above problem is a slow and lazy motor cranking even with a good battery and starter motor.
